In a previous post, I shared a bit about Gamma, an AI-powered tool teachers could use to supercharge their presentation materials. In this post, I want to share another edtech tool that can be used to generate and enhance content for the classroom.
Let’s explore the features of Chalkie!
Chalkie to create stunning presentation materials
Chalkie is an edtech tool powered by AI that can help teachers plan lessons and create course materials in seconds.

With Chalkie, you are able to create individual lessons, a series of lessons, and worksheets. After providing an outline of the content you want to create in the form of a text prompt, you are able to customize what is generated by selecting the number of lessons and whether you want to include vocabulary, learning outcomes, relevant YouTube videos, and learning activities.

You are also able to choose the level of the materials based on US grade levels. As an adult TESOL instructor, there’s a bit of guesswork for me to select the most appropriate level for my learners. But, it seems that with a little trial and error, it’s not too difficult to select an appropriate level for my adult learners.

Chalkie generates slides in a matter of seconds. The content of the slides is pretty well-done. And, you could use the content with students with only a bit of revision.

Chalkie includes a few different types of activities to generate as well. In one of my example lessons, I created a Gap fill exercise with target vocabulary. There are also templates for open-ended tasks, quiz, fill in the blank, image matching, vocabulary matching, and discussion prompts. There are also templates for worksheets with tasks like multiple choice quizzes, open-ended tasks, key vocabulary practice, gap fill passages, and short answer quizzes.
Chalkie was made for elementary, middle, and high school instructors. But, the features it has might offer a lot of value for all types of educators, though.

When using any edtech tools, it’s important to keep your learners and their specific needs in mind. And when using AI-generation tools, it’s paramount to make sure you’re proofreading and revising the content to make sure it’s error-free and engaging for your learners.
